Durian. The king of all fruits has its festival celebrated in the beautiful City of Tagum. And this time it’s a month long celebration. The purpose of this website is not just to win but also to showcase and share to everyone the happy celebration of the Durian Festival by Tagumeños.
One main of the highlights that are celebrated every year by the people of Tagum is the Durian Festival. The festival which all Tagumeños long to every year runs for a month which has events like the Durian Festival Culinary Olympics. This is a contest where all participants shall hurry. The slowest participants are eliminated while the fast ones advance to the next level where they have to bake the quickfire ingredients into some durian inspired desserts that’ll surely tickle your stomach.

The Durian festival this year was delayed for a month because of the prolonged rainy days that subject to the delayed fruiting of durian but it did not stop the celebration which was held on September 9 until September 25, 2011.
The grand opening last September 9, 2011 was a big blast. It was highlighted by a extravagant motorcade and float parade around the town. In the main venue of the festival, stalls that display durian fruits were set up surrounding the Rotary Park grounds. Scheduled concerts were performed by the sponsoring establishments on selected nights.
